Pony Gait Trainer
This ambulation aid
is designed for use with children 18 months to 8 years of age. It
positions child in a slightly prone position while encouraging
ambulation. The pony allows children with developmental
disabilities such as cerebral palsy to experience movement through their
environment and age-appropriate peer interaction. It encourages
development of upright posture, stepping movements, balance reactions,
special awareness and motor planning. A padded arm rest can be added
to encourage weight-bearing through the shoulders for those children with
limited upper extremity function.
